Seven adalimumab biosimilars reached the US market in the same week of July 2023. [1] Two generic versions of Entresto launched two days apart in July 2025. [2] Five companies launched generic semaglutide in India within one day of the patent expiry in March 2026. [3][4] Each of these launch dates was public before it arrived. Each launching company needed finished product on the same few days.
This article asks one question. What happens to a launch plan when several competitors read the same patent, settlement and court calendar and book the same suppliers for the same dates? We assembled documented launch events from 2023 to 2026, calculated the spacing between them, and compared them with public records on fill-finish sites, sole-source shortages and peptide manufacturing. We found no public source that reports how much capacity any single company reserved. We say so where it matters.
The Short Answer
Launch dates for generics and biosimilars cluster because the legal triggers are shared. A patent expiry, a settlement date, a court decision and the 180-day exclusivity rules all give the same date to every eligible entrant. Capacity that one company reserved for that date may be the same capacity that another company reserved at the same supplier. The public record documents the clustering. It does not document the capacity contention. That gap is a finding in its own right.

Why Is the Launch Calendar Public?
Every input to a generic or biosimilar launch date is a public record or a public statement. Companies cannot hide the calendar from competitors, because the calendar comes from the law and from filings that regulators and courts publish.
Where Do Launch Dates Come From?
Four sources set most launch dates. Patent expiry dates come from patent documents and the FDA Orange Book. Settlement dates come from company disclosures, such as the annual report of the brand company. Court decisions come from federal court dockets and opinions. Statutory triggers come from the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and from FDA guidance.
Bristol Myers Squibb shows how a brand company publishes this information. Its annual report lists an estimated minimum market exclusivity date for each major product. Opdivo has dates of 2028 for the US, 2030 for the EU and 2031 for Japan. [5] A competitor can read the same table.
How Does DrugPatentWatch Fit Into Calendar Reading?
DrugPatentWatch is a commercial database that compiles patent, exclusivity and litigation records for pharmaceutical products. Analysts use databases of this type to place many products on one timeline. The database is a starting point. The primary documents are the Orange Book, the patent itself, the court opinion and the company filing. We used primary documents and company filings for the claims in this article wherever we could reach them.
What a Patent Database Can Show
A patent database can show the expiry date of each listed patent. It can show which products share an expiry window. It can show which companies filed challenges. These data let a planner see that many products reach a decision point in the same quarter.
What a Patent Database Cannot Show
A patent database cannot show how much finished product a competitor has made. It cannot show which contract manufacturer a competitor booked. It cannot show the terms of a confidential settlement. A planner who reads the calendar sees the date. The planner does not see the supply plan behind it.
What Is 180-Day Exclusivity and Why Does It Compress Launch Timing?
The 180-day exclusivity period is a period in which FDA does not make later generic applications effective after a first applicant starts marketing or wins a qualifying court decision. The period rewards the first company to challenge a patent. It also gives that company a strong reason to launch on the first possible day. [10]
What Is the Definition of 180-Day Exclusivity?
Under section 505(j)(5)(B)(iv) of the Act, a later application becomes effective no earlier than 180 days after the earlier of two events. The first event is the date FDA receives notice of the first commercial marketing of the drug by the first applicant. The second event is the date of a court decision that holds the challenged patent invalid or not infringed. [10]
How Does the Trigger Work in Practice?
FDA tells applicants what it expects. The agency states that it “expects that you will begin commercial marketing of your product promptly upon approval.” [10] That expectation turns the approval date into a launch date. The company must have finished product on hand when the date arrives.
What Is Forfeiture of 180-Day Exclusivity?
Forfeiture is the loss of the exclusivity period by a first applicant that misses a statutory deadline. The statute lists several forfeiture events. Two matter most for capacity planning. They are failure to market and failure to obtain tentative approval. [12]
Failure to Market
The statute states that a forfeiture happens if “The first applicant fails to market the drug by the later of” two dates. [12] FDA’s draft legislative language ties one of these dates to a period of 75 days after approval and another to 30 months after filing, together with patent-related events. [12] A first applicant that cannot supply product may lose the exclusivity that it spent years to earn.
Failure to Obtain Tentative Approval
The statute also describes forfeiture when the first applicant “fails to obtain tentative approval of the application within 30 months.” An exception applies when a change in, or a review of, the requirements for approval causes the failure. [12] Manufacturing readiness affects tentative approval, because FDA reviews the manufacturing site and the process.
What Did the D.C. Circuit Decide in Norwich v. Kennedy?
In August 2026, the D.C. Circuit decided Norwich v. Kennedy, No. 25-5137. The case concerns rifaximin. Actavis was the first applicant. Norwich was a later filer. [11]
The court held that Actavis did not forfeit exclusivity for failure to market. It reasoned that exclusivity is a single, indivisible period. The court also held that the statute’s “caused by” language requires but-for causation for the tentative-approval question. It rejected FDA’s longstanding presumption and sent the matter back to FDA. [11]
The ruling matters for launch planning in one way. The rules that decide who keeps exclusivity are still under judicial review. A company that plans its supply around an exclusivity date should plan for the possibility that the date, or the holder, changes.
Humira Biosimilars in 2023: Seven Launches in One Week
What Happened in July 2023?
Amgen launched Amjevita in January 2023. [1] Seven more adalimumab biosimilars launched in the week before 6 July 2023. [1] The table lists them.
| Product | Company | Strengths | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cyltezo (adalimumab-adbm) | Boehringer Ingelheim | 50 mg/ml | [1] |
| Hyrimoz (adalimumab-adaz) | Sandoz | 50 mg/ml and 100 mg/ml | [1] |
| Hadlima (adalimumab-bwwd) | Organon and Samsung Bioepis | 50 mg/ml and 100 mg/ml | [1] |
| Yusimry (adalimumab-aqvh) | Coherus BioSciences | 50 mg/ml | [1] |
| Yuflyma (adalimumab-aaty) | Celltrion | 100 mg/ml | [1] |
| Idacio (adalimumab-aacf) | Fresenius Kabi | 50 mg/ml | [1] |
| Hulio (adalimumab-fkjb) | Biocon | 50 mg/ml | [1] |
Each product is offered as an autoinjector and a prefilled syringe. [1] Cyltezo is the only product that the source identifies as FDA-approved as interchangeable with Humira. [1] Pfizer’s Abrilada was expected to launch in 2023, but the source does not say it had launched. [1]
What Did the Compression Mean for Supply?
Each company needed two presentations in several strengths. That is a count of finished-product types. We calculate it from the table above. Seven products with two presentations each gives at least 14 product-presentation combinations in one week. This is our own calculation, and it does not include strength variants.
What Is Documented
The source documents the products, the companies, the strengths and the presentations. [1] It documents that the launches fell in the same week.
What Is Not Documented
The source reports no volumes, no batch counts and no supplier names. [1] We do not know whether any launch was supply-limited. We make no claim that it was. The case shows only that the calendar produced simultaneous demand on device assembly, filling and packaging.
Stelara Biosimilars in 2025: Three Announcements in Four Days
What Is the Stelara Biosimilar Timeline?
Amgen launched Wezlana in January 2025. The source describes it as the first ustekinumab biosimilar to launch. [9] Alvotech and Teva announced the launch of Selarsdi on 21 February 2025. Samsung Bioepis and Sandoz announced Pyzchiva on 24 February 2025. Biocon Biologics announced Yesintek on 24 February 2025. [9]
| Brand | Company | Launch timing per source | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wezlana | Amgen | January 2025 | [9] |
| Selarsdi | Alvotech and Teva | Announced 21 February 2025 | [9] |
| Pyzchiva | Samsung Bioepis and Sandoz | Announced 24 February 2025 | [9] |
| Yesintek | Biocon Biologics | Announced 24 February 2025 | [9] |
The window between the first and last of the three February announcements is 3 days. This is our calculation from the announcement dates. An announcement date is not always the first shipment date.
Did Settlements Set the Stelara Launch Order?
The source says that patent lawsuits by Janssen and Johnson & Johnson delayed biosimilar launches to the first half of 2025. It says that Amgen received the first launch position. [9] The source does not describe the settlement terms. We do not describe them either.
The commercial stake was large. Johnson & Johnson reported $10.4 billion in 2024 Stelara sales, according to the source. [9] A launch date that is shared by several entrants splits that revenue pool among all of them.
Entresto Generics in 2025: Two Launches in Two Days
What Was the Entresto Litigation Timeline?
FDA first approved Entresto in 2015. Novartis sued MSN in 2022, and the suit named other generic filers. [13] FDA approved MSN’s generic in July 2024. Novartis then sued FDA in the District of Columbia. [13]
In October 2024, Judge Dabney Friedrich rejected Novartis’s argument that the approval was unlawful and upheld it. [13] Stays from the D.C. Circuit and the Federal Circuit still barred an at-risk launch at that time. Novartis executives said in July 2024 that they expected generic launches in mid-2025. [13] The source also reports that several generic applications received FDA approval in 2024. [13]
How Close Were the Generic Entresto Launches?
Novadoz launched MSN’s AB-rated generic on 22 July 2025. Torrent launched its own generic on 24 July 2025. [2] The gap is 2 days. This is our calculation from the two dates in the source.
Both companies waited for the same legal event, and both launched within the same week. The case shows how a court calendar compresses launches even when no 180-day period applies to the later entrant. We make no claim about which company held any exclusivity period.
Semaglutide in India in 2026: Day-One Entry by Five Companies
Who Launched Generic Semaglutide in India?
Novo Nordisk’s core Indian semaglutide patent expired on 20 March 2026. [4] On 21 March 2026, multiple generic products launched in India. The source describes this as “Day 1 entry” at patent expiry. [3]
| Company | Brands named | Reported monthly cost | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dr. Reddy’s | Obeda | About INR 4,200 | [3] |
| Zydus Lifesciences | Semaglyn, Mashema, Alterme (Lupin co-markets as Semanext and Livarise) | About INR 2,200 average | [3] |
| Alkem Laboratories | Semasize, Obesema, Hepaglide | From INR 1,800 | [3] |
| Sun Pharma | Noveltreat, Sematrinity | Weekly cost INR 750 to 2,000 depending on product | [3] |
| Glenmark | GLIPIQ | Expected weekly vial cost INR 325 to 440 | [3] |
We count 12 brand names in the source: 10 under the five companies and 2 under Lupin’s co-marketing rights. This is our count. A second source says more than 50 brands are expected to follow in the coming months. [4]
The same source gives Novo Nordisk’s price band as INR 8,800 to 10,000 per month. [4] Dr. Reddy’s reported price of about INR 4,200 is 52% to 58% below that band. This is our calculation. The products differ in dose, pen type and approved use, so the comparison is a rough one.
Why Is Peptide API Capacity the Constraint?
Semaglutide is a 31-amino acid lipidated peptide. [4] The synthesis uses solid-phase peptide synthesis, a lipidation step and preparative HPLC purification, together with strict impurity profiling. [4] Few plants can run all of these steps at scale.
What Do Experts Say About Synthesis Capacity?
The CEO of Hummsa Biotech told the publication that India is strong in small-molecule API manufacturing. He said that “industrial-scale peptide synthesis is a fundamentally different discipline, with only a handful of companies currently equipped to execute it consistently.” [4] If many launchers draw on the same few peptide suppliers, the calendar creates contention at the API step.
Is Production or Regulation the Tighter Limit?
The source reports that CDSCO has no well-defined pathway yet for bioequivalence of peptide generics. It presents regulatory clarity as the more critical constraint for the market, ahead of production capacity. [4] The source gives no plant capacity figures. We therefore cannot say which limit is tighter in practice.
Revlimid: When Volume Limits End on the Same Day
What Does the Bristol Myers Squibb 10-K Say?
The Bristol Myers Squibb annual report for 2025 states that certain generic companies have marketed generic lenalidomide under “volume-limited licenses granted as part of litigation settlements.” [5] A footnote states: “As of January 31, 2026, the licenses are no longer volume-limited.” [5]
The report does not say that full generic entry began on 31 January 2026. It says that the volume limits ended as of that date. We use the report’s wording.
Why Does a Volume Limit Act as a Capacity Forecast?
A volume-limited licence lets a generic company sell only a stated quantity. Every licensed company can see the same end date. When the limit ends, each company may sell as much as it can make. This is our analysis, and it applies to any step-up schedule.
A company with the largest stock on hand and the most flexible supply chain can respond first. A company with a single API source cannot respond faster than that source allows. The step-up date therefore tests the whole supply chain on one day for every licensee.
Which Launch Dates Sit on the 2026 to 2028 Calendar?
The table lists dates that the Bristol Myers Squibb report gives for its own products, plus one secondary-source entry. The “status” column separates announced dates from estimates.
| Product | Date or window | Basis | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revlimid | Licences no longer volume-limited as of 31 January 2026 | Settlement licences | Stated by company as of report date | [5] |
| Pomalyst (US) | First quarter of 2026 | Company expectation | Estimate in the report | [5] |
| Januvia and Janumet | As early as May 2026 | Merck agreements, as described by a secondary source | Launch not verified in this analysis | [14] |
| Eliquis (US) | 2028 | Settlements with generic companies | Stated by company, subject to further challenges | [5] |
| Opdivo (US) | 2028 | Estimated minimum market exclusivity | Estimate | [5] |
Eliquis in 2028: Settlement Date or Patent Expiry?
The Bristol Myers Squibb report states that “the generic companies with whom BMS settled are permitted to launch in 2028, subject to additional challenges.” [5] It also says that the company and Pfizer “settled with a number of these generic companies and won at the trial and appellate levels against others.” [5]
A patent aggregator lists US9326945, an apixaban formulation patent, as expiring on 24 February 2031. [15] The same aggregator lists US6967208, a lactam-containing compound patent, as expiring on 21 November 2026. [15] The 2031 listing is later than the 2028 settlement date by between about 2 and 3 years. This is our calculation, because the report gives only the year 2028.
The two sources do not conflict. A patent expiry date and a licensed entry date are different things. A calendar reader must know which one applies to each competitor. We rely on the company report for the 2028 date and treat the aggregator entry as secondary.
Opdivo: One Product, Three Dates
The Bristol Myers Squibb report lists estimated minimum market exclusivity dates for Opdivo of 2028 in the US, 2030 in the EU and 2031 in Japan. [5] The US and EU dates rest on the nivolumab composition-of-matter patent. [5] The US date precedes the EU date by 2 years and the Japan date by 3 years. This is our calculation. A global supplier must plan three separate launch windows.
Where Does Launch-Day Supply Break? Capacity Layers
What Are the Layers of Launch Capacity?
Launch-day supply needs capacity at several layers. A shortage at any layer stops the launch. The table is an original framework. It is not an industry standard.
| Layer | What it supplies | Where the public record shows exposure |
|---|---|---|
| Drug substance or API | The active ingredient | Peptide synthesis for semaglutide [4] |
| Drug product or fill-finish | Filled vials, syringes and pens | Bloomington, Indiana site [6][7] |
| Device assembly | Autoinjectors and pens | Seven Humira biosimilars each offered autoinjector and syringe forms [1] |
| Packaging and release | Labeled, released packs | No public record found in this analysis |
| Distribution and cold chain | Product delivered to the patient | Cold chain assurance cited for semaglutide in India [4] |
How Did One Fill-Finish Site Affect Regeneron Twice?
Regeneron’s experience shows how a single site can hold up several products at once.
June 2023: The First Complete Response Letter
Regeneron announced on 27 June 2023 that FDA had issued a complete response letter for aflibercept 8 mg. The company attributed it to “an ongoing review of inspection findings at a third-party filler.” [7] The Form 483 for the Catalent Indiana site came from an inspection in April and May 2023. [7] The 483 observations covered failure to follow written and process control procedures, inadequate equipment validation, and failure to maintain and clean equipment. [7]
July 2025: The Second Round
In 2025, Regeneron said that problems at Novo Nordisk’s recently acquired fill-finish plant in Bloomington, Indiana, caused another complete response letter, for odronextamab. It also said two Eylea HD decisions expected in August 2025 would be delayed. [6] An FDA inspection in mid-July 2025 produced a Form 483. [6] Regeneron said the issues were not specific to Eylea and that they dated to the time when Catalent ran the site. [6] The company said it had made progress with alternate third-party fillers. [6]
The interval between the June 2023 announcement and the July 2025 inspection is about 2 years. This is our calculation. The record shows that a company without a qualified second filler cannot move its volume when one site fails inspection. It also shows that the company can add a filler, but that this takes time.
How Much Do Sole-Source Products Drive Shortages?
Shortage data show the same exposure at the level of the whole market. The AJMC report on ASHP data states that active US drug shortages reached 227 in Q2 2026, the third consecutive quarterly increase. [8]
Sole-source products accounted for 48% of all new US drug shortages in 2026, as reported by AJMC. [8]
A University of Utah investigation, reported by the same article, assigned 15% of 2025 shortages to manufacturing issues. It assigned 59% to unknown or undisclosed causes. [8] The peak count was 323 in Q1 2024. [8] The Q2 2026 count of 227 is 29.7% below that peak. This is our calculation. It is also 18.1% below the 277 reported for September 2024. [8]
These data do not link shortages to launch events. They show that the supply base for sterile and complex products has few alternates. A launch that depends on a sole source inherits that risk.
An Original Taxonomy: Five Types of Calendar Convergence
What Are the Five Types?
We group the documented cases by the event that set the shared date. This is an original classification. It is not an established industry taxonomy.
| Type | Shared trigger | Case in this article | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Patent-expiry convergence | One patent expires | Semaglutide in India, 20 March 2026 | [3][4] |
| 2. Settlement-window convergence | Settlements give the same dates to several filers | Stelara biosimilars in 2025; Eliquis in 2028 | [9][5] |
| 3. Licence step-up convergence | A volume limit ends on one date | Revlimid, 31 January 2026 | [5] |
| 4. Court-decision convergence | A ruling clears several launches | Entresto, July 2025 | [13][2] |
| 5. Statutory-trigger convergence | First marketing or a court decision starts the 180-day clock | Any product with a first applicant | [10] |
Which Type Gives the Planner the Most Warning?
Patent-expiry convergence gives the most warning, because the date is fixed years ahead. Court-decision convergence gives the least. A company cannot know the day of a ruling. It must hold supply ready for a window, not a day. This is our analysis. The Entresto record fits it. Executives expected launches in mid-2025, and the launches came on 22 and 24 July 2025. [13][2]
Scenario Analysis: Three Entrants, One Supplier Slot
The scenario below is hypothetical. It uses invented round numbers to show the arithmetic. It is not data from any company or any product.
What Are the Assumptions?
A supplier has 100 batches of capacity in the quarter of a launch. Each entrant asks for the same number of batches. The supplier shares capacity in proportion to requests. No entrant has a second supplier.
What Are the Results?
| Entrants | Batches requested by each | Total requested | Share of request filled |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 40 | 40 | 100% |
| 2 | 40 | 80 | 100% |
| 3 | 40 | 120 | 83.3% |
| 4 | 40 | 160 | 62.5% |
| 2 | 50 | 100 | 100% |
| 3 | 50 | 150 | 66.7% |
| 4 | 50 | 200 | 50% |
Each entrant plans as if it is alone. At one or two entrants, the plan works. At three entrants, each receives about two thirds to five sixths of the request. The shortfall appears on launch day.
Sensitivity: What if the Supplier Adds 25% Capacity?
If the supplier adds 25% capacity, it has 125 batches. Three entrants asking for 50 batches each then receive 83.3% of the request. Four entrants asking for 50 batches each receive 62.5%. More capacity helps. It does not remove the shortfall when the number of entrants grows.
How Can a Planner Test a Launch Plan Against a Shared Calendar?
The cases above suggest a simple test. The test is our own analysis. It is not a published industry standard. It asks four questions about each launch date.
Question 1: Who Else Has This Date?
List every company that can launch on or near the date. Use the patent record, the settlement disclosures and the court docket. For Humira in July 2023, the list had seven names. For Entresto, it had at least two. [1][2] A date with one eligible entrant is a different problem from a date with eight.
Question 2: Which Layers Do We Share With Them?
Ask which suppliers each competitor is likely to use. Public clues exist. A contract filler may announce a customer. A company may describe its own plant. A regulator may publish an inspection result. A planner can never be sure, but a planner can assume that a few qualified suppliers serve many customers. The Regeneron record shows that one filler site served more than one product at once. [6]
Question 3: What Is Our Fallback If the Shared Layer Fails?
A fallback needs a second qualified source, and qualification takes time. Regeneron reported progress with alternate third-party fillers only after the 2025 problems began. [6] A planner should qualify the second source before the launch quarter, not during it.
Question 4: What Does Our Contract Say About Allocation?
Read the allocation clause in each supply agreement. The clause tells you what the supplier does when total requests exceed capacity. In the scenario above, the shortfall depends on that rule. A proportional rule gives each customer the same fill rate. A priority rule gives some customers a full fill and others none. Neither rule appears in any public record that we found.
What Does the Public Record Not Tell Us?
Are There Public Data on Reserved Capacity?
We found none. The Humira source lists products, companies and presentations, but no volumes. [1] The Indian semaglutide sources give prices and brand counts, but no plant capacity figures. [3][4] The Bristol Myers Squibb report gives dates and licence terms, but no supply quantities. [5] A claim that any given launch failed for lack of capacity needs evidence that these sources do not give.
Why Does the Gap Matter for Citation and Research?
A writer who states that launch-day supply constraints hit a named product needs a source that says so. This article does not supply one. It documents the calendar compression and the structural exposure. It leaves the question of actual shortfalls open. That boundary is deliberate. A reader can cite the clustering data with confidence and should treat any claim about specific shortfalls as unproven unless a primary source supports it.
Methodology
What Data Did We Analyze?
We analyzed 15 public sources dated between 2022 and 2026. They include one FDA guidance document, FDA draft legislative language, one Bristol Myers Squibb annual report filed with the SEC, a legal blog report on a federal appeals decision, trade press reports and law-firm summaries. The event period runs from January 2023 to October 2026.
How Did We Select and Deduplicate Records?
We included a record when a source stated a launch date, a regulatory event or a count with a named company or product. We counted a co-marketed product once. We counted a product once even if two sources reported it. We did not include a launch that a source described only as expected.
How Did We Calculate the Figures?
We subtracted calendar dates to find gaps in days. We computed percentage differences as the difference between two reported values divided by the reference value. We label every such figure as our calculation in the text. We did not extrapolate any figure beyond its source.
What Are the Limits of This Analysis?
Four limits apply. First, several sources are trade press or law-firm summaries, not primary documents. Second, an announcement date is not always a first-shipment date. Third, we found no public data on reserved capacity, batch counts or supplier contracts, so the scenario is hypothetical. Fourth, we did not verify that every date on the 2026 to 2028 table has since occurred. Readers should confirm current status with the Orange Book, the court docket and the company filing.
What This Means for Each Party
What This Means for Brand Manufacturers
A brand company can read the same public calendar and predict how many competitors will arrive on a given date. It can plan price and supply responses for that date. Its own report, such as the Bristol Myers Squibb table, tells competitors the same dates. [5]
What This Means for Generic Entry Planners
A generic company should plan for competitors that book the same suppliers. It should ask each supplier how it allocates capacity when requests exceed supply. It should also hold a second qualified source for the step that has the fewest alternates. The Regeneron record shows the cost of a single filler. [6][7]
What This Means for Biosimilar Developers
Biosimilar launches combine drug substance, fill-finish and device assembly. Seven launches in one week put all three layers under pressure at once. [1] A developer that owns more of these layers has fewer outside dependencies on launch week. A developer that depends on contract partners needs signed allocation terms.
What This Means for Contract Manufacturers
A contract manufacturer sees requests from several customers for the same dates. That supplier holds the information that no public database holds. It knows the total demand for the slot. Its allocation rule decides which customer ships on launch day.
What Happens Next?
What Are the Announced Dates?
Bristol Myers Squibb states that settled generic companies may launch Eliquis in 2028, subject to additional challenges. [5] The company estimates minimum US market exclusivity for Opdivo through 2028. [5] These are the dates the company has published.
What Is Estimated or Uncertain?
The report’s Pomalyst date was an expectation, not a confirmed event, at the time of the report. [5] The Januvia entry date comes from a secondary source, and we did not confirm a launch. [14] The D.C. Circuit’s August 2026 ruling on forfeiture may change how FDA treats exclusivity in future cases. [11]

FAQ
What Is the 180-Day Generic Exclusivity Period?
It is a period of 180 days that begins on the earlier of the first commercial marketing by the first applicant or a qualifying court decision. During it, FDA does not make later applications effective. [10]
Can a First Generic Applicant Lose Its Exclusivity?
Yes. The statute lists forfeiture events, including failure to market and failure to obtain tentative approval within 30 months. [12] In August 2026 the D.C. Circuit required but-for causation for the tentative-approval question. [11]
How Many Generic Entresto Products Launched in July 2025?
The source documents two. Novadoz launched on 22 July 2025 and Torrent launched on 24 July 2025. [2]
What Is a Volume-Limited Generic Licence?
It is a settlement licence that caps the quantity a generic company can sell. Bristol Myers Squibb reports that certain Revlimid licences were no longer volume-limited as of 31 January 2026. [5]
What Happens When a Fill-Finish Site Receives a Form 483?
FDA can link the observations to a pending application. In June 2023, Regeneron attributed a complete response letter to a review of inspection findings at a third-party filler. [7] In 2025 the company reported a further complete response letter and delayed decisions tied to the same site. [6]
How Many US Drug Shortages Are Active Now?
ASHP counted 227 active shortages in Q2 2026, according to AJMC. [8] That count was the third consecutive quarterly increase. [8]
Do Biosimilar Launch Dates Follow Settlements?
For Stelara, the source reports that patent lawsuits delayed biosimilar launches to the first half of 2025 and that Amgen received the first launch position. [9] The settlement terms are not described in that source.
When Can Generic Eliquis Launch in the US?
Bristol Myers Squibb states that settled generic companies may launch in 2028, subject to additional challenges. [5] A patent aggregator also lists a formulation patent that expires on 24 February 2031. [15] Check the current Orange Book and court records before you plan.
Why Is Generic Semaglutide Hard to Make at Scale?
The molecule is a 31-amino acid lipidated peptide. Its synthesis needs solid-phase synthesis, lipidation and preparative HPLC purification. [4] An industry source says only a handful of Indian companies can run industrial-scale peptide synthesis consistently. [4]
Where Can I Find Patent Expiration Dates for a Launch Calendar?
Start with the FDA Orange Book and the patent documents. Then check the brand company’s annual report for its published exclusivity estimates. [5] Commercial databases such as DrugPatentWatch compile these records into one view, and you should confirm key dates against the primary documents.
