Patent Claims:1. A method for labeling a molecule with an oxidizable radioactive label, comprising: substantially continuously inflowing said molecule, said oxidizable radioactive label--and an oxidizing agent--through a reaction chamber or tube; allowing said oxidizing agent, said oxidizable radioactive label and said molecule to react during passage through said reaction chamber or tube, thereby producing a radio labeled molecule; substantially continuously outflowing said radiolabeled molecule from said reaction chamber or tube; and collecting said radiolabeled molecule after passage through said reaction chamber or tube.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label are substantially continuously pumped through said reaction chamber or tube.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label are substantially continuously pumped through a reaction chamber.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label are substantially continuously pumped through a reaction tube.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein said reaction tube is of a predetermined length and a predetermined diameter effective to allow contact of said molecule, said oxidizable radioactive label and said oxidizing agent to produce a desired amount of said radiolabeled molecule per unit time.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label are substantially continuously pumped through said reaction chamber or tube by a multi-channel peristaltic pump.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label are substantially continuously pumped through said reaction chamber or tube by a multi-channel peristaltic pump controlled by a computer.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein said oxidizing agent is present on at least a portion of the inner surface of said reaction chamber or tube, and wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label react with said oxidizing agent during passage through said reaction chamber or tube.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein said oxidizing agent is 1,3,4,6-Tetrachloro-3.alpha., 6.alpha.-diphenylglycouril.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein said oxidizing agent is present on microparticles contained within said reaction chamber or tube, and wherein said molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label react with said oxidizing agent during passage through said reaction chamber or tube.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein said oxidizing agent is N-chlorotoluenesulfonamide.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein each of said molecule, said oxidizable radioactive label and said oxidizing agent are substantially continuously pumped into said reaction chamber or tube from separate reagent vessels.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein a mixture of said molecule and said oxidizing agent is substantially continuously pumped into said reaction chamber or tube from a first reagent vessel and wherein said oxidizable radioactive label is substantially continuously pumped into said reaction chamber or tube from a second reagent vessel.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein said second reagent vessel is comprised within a radioshield.

15. The method of claim 1 wherein said oxidizing agent is N-chlorotoluenesulfonamide.

16. The method of claim 1, further comprising applying said radiolabeled molecule to at least a first purification unit and isolating a substantially purified radiolabeled molecule therefrom.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein said purification unit comprises at least a first ion exchange column, anion exchange column or size exclusion column.

18. The method of claim 16, wherein said purification unit comprises at least a first dialysis unit.

19. The method of claim 16, further comprising filtering said substantially purified radiolabeled molecule through a sterile filter attached to said purification unit.

20. The method of claim 16, further comprising adding at least a first radioprotectant to said substantially purified radiolabeled molecule.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein said radioprotectant is bovine serum albumin, human serum albumin or ascorbate.

22. The method of claim 1, wherein said molecule is a protein, polypeptide or peptide.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein said protein, polypeptide or peptide is labeled with said radioactive label on tyrosine.

24. The method of claim 22, wherein said protein, polypeptide or peptide is labeled with said radioactive label on histidine.

25. The method of claim 22, wherein said protein, polypeptide or peptide is labeled with said radioactive label on tryptophan.

26. The method of claim 22, wherein said molecule is an antibody molecule.

27. The method of claim 1, wherein said oxidizable radioactive label is iodine-131 or iodine-125.

28. A method for radioiodinating a protein or polypeptide with an iodine radiolabel, comprising: substantially continuously pumping a first solution comprising said protein or polypeptide, a second solution comprising said iodine radiolabel through a reaction chamber or tube, and while pumping an oxidizing agent through the chamber or tube; allowing said oxidizing agent, said iodine radiolabel and said protein or polypeptide to react during substantially continuously pumping through said reaction chamber or tube, thereby producing a radioiodinated protein or polypeptide; and collecting said radioiodinated protein or polypeptide after substantially continuously pumping through said reaction chamber or tube.

29. The method of claim 28, wherein said protein or polypeptide is an antibody molecule.

30. The method of claim 28, wherein said iodine radiolabel is iodine-131 or iodine-125.

31. A method for labeling a molecule with an oxidizable radioactive label, said method comprising: providing an apparatus that comprises: a reaction chamber or tube comprising a first end and a second end; a first reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a first reagent tubing, said first reagent tubing connected to at least a first pump; a second reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a second reagent tubing, said second reagent tubing connected to a pump; and at least a first purification unit comprising an inlet and an outlet, said inlet of said purification unit fluidly connected to said second end of said reaction chamber or tube; placing a first solution comprising a target molecule and an oxidizing agent into said first reagent vessel; placing a second solution comprising an oxidizable radioactive label into said second reagent vessel; substantially continuously pumping said first solution and said second solution into said reaction chamber or tube using said pump; allowing said target molecule, said oxidizing agent and said oxidizable radioactive label to react within said reaction chamber or tube, thereby producing an admixture comprising a radiolabeled molecule; substantially continuously pumping said admixture through said purification unit; and collecting a substantially purified radiolabeled molecule from said purification unit.

32. The method of claim 31, wherein said second reagent vessel is comprised within a radioshield.

33. A method for labeling a molecule with an oxidizable radioactive label, said method comprising: providing an apparatus that comprises: a reaction chamber or tube comprising a first end and a second end; wherein said reaction chamber or tube comprises an oxidizing agent; a first reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a first reagent tubing, said first reagent tubing connected to at least a first pump; a second reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a second reagent tubing, said second reagent tubing connected to a pump; and at least a first purification unit comprising an inlet and an outlet, said inlet of said purification unit fluidly connected to said second end of said reaction chamber or tube; placing a first solution comprising a target molecule into said first reagent vessel; placing a second solution comprising an oxidizable radioactive label into said second reagent vessel; substantially continuously pumping said first solution and said second solution into said reaction chamber or tube, wherein said target molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label react with the oxidizing agent comprised in said reaction chamber or tube during passage through said reaction chamber or tube, thereby producing an admixture comprising a radiolabeled molecule; substantially continuously pumping said admixture through said purification unit; and collecting a substantially purified radiolabeled molecule from said purification unit.

34. The method of claim 33, wherein said second reagent vessel is comprised within a radioshield.

35. A method for labeling a molecule with an oxidizable radioactive label, said method comprising: providing an apparatus that comprises: a reaction chamber or tube comprising a first end and a second end; a first reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a first reagent tubing, said first reagent tubing connected to at least a first pump; a second reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a second reagent tubing, said second reagent tubing connected to a pump; a third reagent vessel fluidly connected to said first end of said reaction chamber or tube through a third reagent tubing, said third reagent tubing connected to a pump; and at least a first purification unit comprising an inlet and an outlet, said inlet of said purification unit fluidly connected to said second end of said reaction chamber or tube; placing an oxidizing agent into said first reagent vessel; placing a target molecule into said second reagent vessel; placing an oxidizable radioactive label into said third reagent vessel; substantially continuously pumping said oxidizing agent, said target molecule and said oxidizable radioactive label into said reaction chamber or tube at a predetermined rate effective for said oxidizing agent to oxidize said oxidizable radioactive label to form a reactive intermediate that reacts with a substituent of said target molecule that can undergo electrophilic substitution, thereby producing a radiolabeled molecule; purifying said radiolabeled molecule by substantially continuously passing said radiolabeled molecule through said purification unit; and collecting a substantially purified radiolabeled molecule from said purification unit.

36. The method of claim 35, wherein said third reagent vessel is comprised within a radioshield.

37. A method for labeling a molecule with an oxidizable radioactive label, comprising: substantially continuously pumping said molecule, said oxidizable radioactive label and an oxidizing agent through a reaction chamber or tube; allowing said oxidizing agent, said oxidizable radioactive label and said molecule to react during substantially continuous flow through said reaction chamber or tube, thereby producing a radiolabeled molecule; and collecting said radiolabeled molecule after substantially continuous flow through said reaction chamber or tube.
