Patent Claims:	1. A method of promoting repair of articular cartilage in a subject comprising a. selecting a human subject with injured articular cartilage; and b. administering intermittently to the subject a parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTH/PTHrP) receptor agonist, wherein the cartilage is injured by trauma. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the PTH/PTHrP receptor agonist is a peptide agonist. 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the peptide agonist is teriparatide.
