The method of claim 7, wherein the compound is co-administered simultaneously or sequentially with an additional analgesic or non-opioid analgesic. 9. The method of claim 7, wherein the compound is co-administered simultaneously or sequentially with an anti-constipation agent. 10. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 6 further comprising at least one additional analgesic or non-opioid analgesic. 11. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 6 further comprising at least one anti-constipation agent. 12. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 6, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises an enantiomeric excess of at least 90% of ##STR00228## 13.
