Title:Utilization of dialkylfumarates
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of certain dialkyl fumarates for the preparation of pharmaceutical preparations for use in transplantation medicine or for the therapy of autoimmune diseases and said compositions in the form of micro-tablets or pellets. For this purpose, the dialkyl fumarates may also be used in combination with conventional preparations used in transplantation medicine and immunosuppressive agents, especially cyclosporines.

Patent Claims: 1. A pharmaceutical preparation, comprising dimethyl fumarate, wherein the pharmaceutical preparation is in the form of microtablets.

2. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 1, wherein the microtablets are enteric coated.

3. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 2, wherein the mean diameter of the microtablets ranges from 300 .mu.m to 2,000 .mu.m, exclusive of any coating on the microtablets.

4. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 3, wherein the mean diameter of the microtablets is about 2,000 .mu.m, exclusive of any coating on the microtablets.

5. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 4, wherein the preparation contains 10 mg to 300 mg of dimethyl fumarate.

6. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 5, wherein the preparation contains about 120 mg of dimethyl fumarate.

7. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 5, wherein the microtablets are contained in one or more capsules.

8. A pharmaceutical preparation, comprising an active ingredient, wherein the pharmaceutical preparation is in the form of microtablets and the active ingredient consists of dimethyl fumarate.

9. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 8, wherein the mean diameter of the microtablets is about 2,000 .mu.m, exclusive of any coating on the microtablets.

10. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 9, wherein the preparation contains 10 mg to 300 mg of dimethyl fumarate.

11. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 10, wherein the preparation contains about 120 mg of dimethyl fumarate.

12. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 10, wherein the microtablets are enteric coated and are contained in one or more capsules.

13. A pharmaceutical preparation consisting essentially of an active ingredient and one or more carriers and excipients, wherein the active ingredient is dimethyl fumarate and the preparation contains 10 mg to 300 mg of dimethyl fumarate, and wherein the pharmaceutical preparation is in the form of microtablets and the mean diameter of the microtablets is about 2,000 .mu.m, exclusive of any coating on the microtablets.
