1. A method of treating a disease or disorder characterized by increased stress hormone levels and/or decreased androgen hormone levels in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound represented by formula (I): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the disease or disorder is Cushing's syndrome, Cushing's disease or cachexia selected from cardiac cachexia, COPD-induced cachexia, cirrhosis-induced cachexia, tumor-induced cachexia, or viral (HIV)-induced cachexia, and wherein the treating a disease or disorder is partially or totally ameliorating the disease or disorder, partially or totally ameliorating at least one physical parameter of the disease or disorder, modulating the disease or disorder, or delaying the onset or development or progression of the disease or disorder. 2. The method according to claim 1 wherein said the compound of formula I is in the salt form of dihydrogen phosphate. 3. The method according to claim 1 wherein the disease or disorder is Cushing's syndrome. 4. The method according to claim 1 wherein the disease or disorder is Cushing's disease. 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the disease or disorder is cachexia is selected from cardiac cachexia, COPD-induced cachexia, cirrhosis-induced cachexia, tumor-induced cachexia, or viral (HIV)-induced cachexia. |
