Patent Claims:	1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of formula (IV): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester, or tautomer thereof. 2. A method of reducing serum uric acid levels in a human, the method comprising administering to the human a composition of claim 1. 3. A method of treating gout in a human, the method comprising administering to the human a composition of claim 1. 4. A method of treating hyperuricemia in a human, the method comprising administering to the human a composition of claim 1. 5. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, further comprising a second agent effective for treatment of gout. 6. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5, wherein the second agent is a URAT 1 inhibitor, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor, a xanthine dehydrogenase, a xanthine oxidoreductase inhibitor, or a combination thereof. 7. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5, wherein the second agent is allopurinol. 8. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5, wherein the second agent is febuxostat. 9. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent, or binder. 10. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a tablet or capsule. 11. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a tablet. 12. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a coated tablet.
