NCT00046930 ↗ | Daunorubicin & Cytarabine +/- Zosuquidar inTreating Older Patients With Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia or Refractory Anemia | Completed | Eli Lilly and Company | Phase 3 | RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Zosuquidar trihydrochloride, a modulator of multidrug resistance (MDR), may help daunorubicin and cytarabine kill more cancer cells by making cancer cells more sensitive to the drugs. It is not yet known whether daunorubicin and cytarabine are more effective with or without zosuquidar trihydrochloride in treating acute myeloid leukemia or anemia. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well giving zosuquidar trihydrochloride together with daunorubicin and cytarabine works compared to daunorubicin and cytarabine alone in treating older patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia or anemia that has not responded to previous treatment. |

NCT00046930 ↗ | Daunorubicin & Cytarabine +/- Zosuquidar inTreating Older Patients With Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia or Refractory Anemia | Completed | Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group | Phase 3 | RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Zosuquidar trihydrochloride, a modulator of multidrug resistance (MDR), may help daunorubicin and cytarabine kill more cancer cells by making cancer cells more sensitive to the drugs. NCT00129168 ↗ | Zosuquidar in Combination With Daunorubicin and Cytarabine in Patients Ages 55-75 With Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) | Completed | Kanisa Pharmaceuticals | Phase 1/Phase 2 | Chemotherapy drugs use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Zosuquidar may help daunorubicin and cytarabine kill more cancer cells by making cancer cells more sensitive to the drugs. It is not yet known whether daunorubicin and cytarabine are more effective with or without zosuquidar in treating acute myeloid leukemia. |
NCT00233909 ↗ | A Trial of Gemtuzumab Ozogamicin (GO) in Combination With Zosuquidar in Patients With CD33 Positive Acute Myeloid Leukemia | Completed | Kanisa Pharmaceuticals | Phase 1/Phase 2 | Chemotherapy drugs use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Zosuquidar may help Gemtuzumab Ozogamicin (GO) kill more cancer cells by making cancer cells more sensitive to the drug. It is not known whether Gemtuzumab Ozogamicin (GO) is more effective with or without zosuquidar in treating acute myeloid leukemia. |
