NCT04195698 ↗ Open-Label Extension Study of Upadacitinib in Adult Participants With Moderate to Severe Atopic Dermatitis Not yet recruiting AbbVie Phase 3 2020-01-13 This is a study for adults (18-75 years) who have successfully completed treatment either with Dupilumab or with Upadacitinib in the study M16-046. At the end of M16-046, they have the option to receive Upadacitinib with a duration of 52 weeks beyond the timeframe of Study M16-046. There will be a 30 day follow-up visit after the treatment period is completed. Main objective of this study is to assess long-term safety, tolerability and efficacy of upadacitinib in participants with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis who successfully completed treatment in the study M16-046.
NCT04430855 ↗ A Study of Oral Upadacitinib Tablet Compared to Placebo in Adult Participants With Moderate to Severe Hidradenitis Suppurativa to Assess Change in Disease Symptoms Not yet recruiting AbbVie Phase 2 2020-06-29 Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is an inflammatory skin disease that causes painful lesions in the axilla (underarm), inguinal (groin) and anogenital (anal and genital) regions. This study will evaluate how well upadacitinib compared to placebo (no medicine) works to treat hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) in adult participants with moderate to severe disease. The study will assess change in disease signs and symptoms. Upadacitinib is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of HS. This study is "double-blinded", which means that neither the trial participants nor the study doctors will know who will be given study drug and who will receive placebo (no medicine). Participants are randomly (by chance) put into 1 of 2 groups, called treatment arms. They are randomized in a 2 to 1 ratio meaning more participants have a chance to receive upadacitinib compared to placebo. Adult participants with a diagnosis of hidradenitis suppurativa will be enrolled. Around 60 participants will be enrolled in the study in approximately 28 sites globally. Participants will undergo approximately 35-days of screening followed by oral tablet upadacitinib or placebo once daily for 48 weeks and a 30-day follow-up visit after the last dose of study drug for a total study duration of up to 57 weeks. There may be a higher burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend visits every other week, once a month, or once every 2 months during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
NCT04666675 ↗ A Study of Oral Upadacitinib Tablets to Assess Change in Disease State in Participants Aged 12-75 Years With Moderate to Severe Atopic Dermatitis in Brazil Not yet recruiting AbbVie Phase 3 2021-09-01 Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that is characterized by intense itching, oozing and crusting, redness, skin erosion and dry skin. This study will evaluate how well upadacitinib compared to placebo (no medicine) works to treat participants with moderate to severe AD in Brazil. The study will assess change in disease signs and symptoms. Upadacitinib is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of Atopic Dermatitis (AD). This study is "double-blinded", which means that neither the trial participants nor the study doctors will know who will be given which study drug. Study doctors put the participants into 1 of 4 groups called treatment arms. Each group receives a different treatment. Participants with a diagnosis of AD will be enrolled. Around 150 participants will be enrolled in the study in approximately 20 sites in Brazil. Participants will receive the following for up to 52 weeks: Participants will receive oral upadacitinib tablets once daily for up to week 52. Participants may also receive oral placebo tablets once daily up to week 16 followed by oral upadacitinib tablets once daily up to week 52. Arm 1: Upadacitinib Dose A up to week 52. Arm 2: Upadacitinib Dose B up to week 52. Arm 3: Placebo up to week 16 followed by upadacitinib Dose A up to week 52. Arm 4: Placebo up to week 16 followed by upadacitinib Dose B up to week 52. There may be higher burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend monthly visits during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, and checking for side effects.
NCT04927975 ↗ Study to Evaluate Adverse Events and Change in Disease Activity With Oral Tablets of Upadacitinib in Adult Participants With Non-Segmental Vitiligo Not yet recruiting AbbVie Phase 2 2021-06-15 Vitiligo is a common chronic autoimmune disease that causes the body's immune system to attack its own pigment producing skin cells. This study is to evaluate how safe and effective upadacitinib is in participants with non-segmental vitiligo. Adverse effects and change in disease activity will be assessed. Upadacitinib is being evaluated for the treatment of non-segmental vitiligo. The study will enroll approximately 160 participants aged 18-65 with non-segmental vitiligo in 5 treatment arms across 35 sites worldwide. Participants will either receive study drug vs placebo oral tablets once daily (QD) for 24 weeks (Period A). In Period B (up to 52 weeks), participants who received placebo during the first 24 weeks will switch to study drug. Participants who received study drug during the first 24 weeks, will continue to receive study drug. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
