Claims: | 1. A method for the treatment of pain, the method comprising the administration of a therapeutically effective amount of 1-[2-(2,4-dimethylphenylsulfanyl)phenyl]piperazine or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof (compound I) to a patient in need thereof. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein compound I is the HBr acid addition salt. 3. The method according to claim 2, wherein said HBr acid addition salt is crystalline with XRPD reflections at 6.89, 9.73, 13.78 and 14.64 (.degree. 2.theta.). 4. The method according to claim 3, wherein said HBr acid addition salts has an XRPD as depicted in FIG. 3. 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein compound I is administered in daily doses of about 1-20 mg. |
