Abstract:This disclosure describes a compound of Formula I ##STR1## (including its pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters) which has potent antihistamine activity which is substantially free from sedative effects and which has little or no anticholinergic effects.

Patent Claims: 1. The compound of formula (I) ##STR10## straight and branched lower alkyl (1-4 carbon atoms) esters, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.

2. The compound of claim 1 as the hydrochloride salt.

3. The compound of claim 1 as the sulfate salt.

4. The compound of claim 1 as the hydrobromide salt.

5. The compound of claim 1 as the tartrate salt.

6. The compound of claim 1 as the citrate salt.

7. The compound of claim 1 as the succinate salt.

8. The compound of claim 1 as the sodium salt.

9. The compound of claim 1 as the potassium salt.

10. The compound of claim 1 as the calcium salt.

11. The compound of claim 1 which is the methyl ester.

12. The compound of claim 1 which is the ethyl ester.

13. The compound of claim 1 which is the propyl ester.

14. The compound of claim 1 which is the butyl ester.

15. (E)-3-{6-[3-Pyrrolidino-1-(4-tolyl)prop-1E-enyl]-2-pyridyl}acrylic acid.

16. The compound of formula (I) ##STR11## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

17. A pharmaceutically acceptable salt of (E)-3-{6-[3-Pyrrolidino-1-(4-tolyl)prop-1E-enyl]-2-pyridyl}acrylic acid.

18. The hydrochloride salt of claim 17.

19. The salt of claim 17 which is an acid addition salt.

20. The salt of claim 17 which is an alkaline metal or alkaline earth salt.

21. The tartrate salt of claim 17.
