Claims: | 1. A method for reducing tissue accumulation of a lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic in a mammal, the method comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of the lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the mammal in a pharmaceutical composition comprising a cyclodextrin, wherein the lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic accumulates in the mammal in the absence of the cyclodextrin. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises water. 3. A method for reducing tissue accumulation of a lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic in a mammal, the method comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of the lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the mammal in a pharmaceutical composition comprising an aqueous cyclodextrin carrier, wherein the lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic accumulates in the mammal in the absence of the cyclodextrin. 4. A method for reducing tissue accumulation of a lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic in a mammal, the method comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of the lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the mammal in a pharmaceutical composition comprising 1 to 40 weight percent of a cyclodextrin; and 60 to 99 weight percent of water, based on 100 weight percent of the composition, wherein the lipidated glycopeptide antibiotic accumulates in the mammal in the absence of the cyclodextrin. 5. The method of claim 4, wherein the cyclodextrin comprises about 5 to 35 weight percent of the composition. 6. The method of claim 4, wherein the cyclodextrin comprises about 10 to 30 weight percent of the composition. 7. The method of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the cyclodextrin is hydroxypropyl-.alpha.-cyclodextrin. 8. The method of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the cyclodextrin is sulfobutyl ether .beta.-cyclodextrin. |
