Patent Claims:1. A slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient, wherein the neuropeptide Y antagonist is a fermentation product of the strain Streptomyces sp SEBR 2794 as well as productive mutants thereof.

2. A slimming composition according to claim 1 comprising about 0.00001 % to 5% of neuropeptide Y antagonist and about 0.00001 % to 5% of .alpha.2 antagonist.

3. A slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an a2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient, wherein the a2 antagonist is a fermentation product of the strain Bacillus licheniformis SEBR 2464 as well as productive mutants thereof.

4. A slimming composition according to claim 3 comprising about 0.00001 % to 5% of neuropeptide Y antagonist and about 0,00001%Y to 6% of a2 antagonist.

A slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient, wherein the neuropeptide Y antagonist is a fermentation product of the strain Streptomyces sp SEBR 2794 and the a2 antagonist is a fermentation product of the strain Bacillus licheniformis SEBR 2464.

6. A slimming composition according to claim 5 comprising about 0.00001% to 5% of neuropeptide Y antagonist and about 0.00001 % to 15% of .alpha.2 antagonist.

7. A slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient, additionally containing caffeine and extract of Ginkgo biloba.

8. A slimming composition according to claim 7 comprising about 0,00001 % to 5% of neuropeptide Y antagonist and about 0.00001% to 5% of .alpha.2 antagonist.

9. A slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient, additionally containing a collagen synthesis stimulator, a collagenase or elastase inhibitor, or a vasoprotector.

10. A method of achieving a slimming effect, which process comprises topically applying to selected parts of the body a slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient.

11. A method according to claim 10 comprising about 0.00001% to 5% of neuropeptide Y antagonist and about 0.00001% to 5% of .alpha.2 antagonist.

12. A method according to claim mming effect, which process comprises topically applying a slimming composition according to claim 5 to selected parts of the body.

13. A method according to claim 10, wherein the slimming composition is applied to the thighs.

14. A method according to claim 10, wherein the slimming composition is applied to the thighs and the abdomen from the waist to the knees.

15. A method of controlling lipolysis/lipogenesis in the skin which comprises applying to the skin a slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient.

16. A method of attenuating the fatty, "orange peel" appearance of the skin which comprises applying to the skin a A slimming composition for topical application comprising a neuropeptide Y antagonist and an .alpha.2 antagonist in combination with cosmetically acceptable excipient.
