Claims: | 1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a non-naturally occurring nucleic acid ligand to basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), wherein said nucleic acid ligand inhibits the binding of bFGF to its receptor on the surface of a cell. 2. The composition of claim 1 wherein said nucleic acid ligand is single-stranded. 3. The composition of claim 2 wherein said nucleic acid ligand is an RNA ligand. 4. The composition of claim 3 wherein said nucleic acid ligand is comprised of 2'NH.sub.2(2'-amino)modified nucleotides. 5. A method of inhibiting the binding of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) to its receptor on the surface of a cell in vivo comprising administering to said cell the pharmaceutical composition of claim 1. 6. The method of claim 5 wherein said nucleic acid ligand is single-stranded. 7. The method of claim 6 wherein said nucleic acid ligand is an RNA ligand. 8. The method of claim 7 wherein said nucleic acid ligand is comprised of 2'NH.sub.2(2'-amino)modified nucleotides. 9. The method of claim 8 wherein said nucleic acid ligand comprises SEQ ID NO:104. |
