Claims: | 1. A method of treating a patient suffering from panic disorder, which comprises administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of a carbostyril compound of formula (1), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, wherein said patient is a mammal: ##STR00003## wherein the carbon-carbon bond between the 3- and 4-positions in the carbostyril skeleton is a single or double bond. 2. The method according to claim 1 wherein the carbostyril compound is 7-{4-[4-(2 ,3-dichlorophenyl)-1-piperazinyl]butoxyl}-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril. |
